Workshop: Legally Blonde in a Day



OMIGOD you guys! Learn and perform your favorite role from Legally Blonde the Musical in a single day!

 

If you love Legally Blonde the Musical, you’ll love this musical theater workshop! Participants will learn musical selections from the show, work on character development, perform original choreography, as well as work with Meaghan Bruneault, who played Elle right here at the Stadium Theatre last spring. We encourage all participants to wear their pinkest clothing on the day of the workshop! Participants will also have the opportunity to perform what they have learned for family and friends later in the afternoon.

 

Legally Blonde In a Day will be instructed by Kathleen Halloran-Fortier and Meaghan Bruneault.

 

This Workshop will be held on Sunday, September 22nd from 10 AM to 3 PM.

 

Bring a lunch & drink.

 

Workshop Fee is $50 per person.

About the Instructors...

Kathleen Halloran-Fortier is the Executive Producer and co-founder of The Encore Repertory Company.  She is a 20 year veteran theatrical choreographer and has choreographed “Annie”, “High School Musical”, “Aladdin, Jr.”, “A Chorus Line” and “Grease”.  Kathy’s performing theatre credits include, Amaryllis in “Music Man”, Martha Cratchitt in “A Christmas Carol”, Joy in “Cinderella”, Rosie in “Bye Bye Birdie”, and as Veruca Salt in “Willy Wonka”.  In August 2010 she produced and choreographed “Guys and Dolls” in the Encore Summer Stock program that is held at the Stadium Theatre.  Kathy is a graduate of Rhode Island College where she majored in theatre.

 

Meaghan Bruneault was born and raised in North Smithfield, RI. She has been performing since the age of three beginning with an early career in dance. She trained under Arlene Golden Gilbert at The Jasper School of Dance (formerly The Dance Center). As a young dancer, Meaghan competed in several competitions and holds two first
place titles. For many years, she performed in Dance for Heart, helping to raise money for the American Heart Association. Meaghan is most proud of her work with The JASPER Ballet; a non-profit organization dedicated
to the education and research of HIV and Aids. In 1995 & 1996, as a member of The JASPER Ballet Meaghan helped present "Moments to Remember" in observance of World Aids Day. Since its inception, The JASPER Ballet has distributed over $11,000 in contributions to Aids organizations. Most recently Meaghan starred in Encore's 2013 production of Legally Blonde the Musical, as Elle Woods!
